Bridgehampton Lions Carving Contest will be held on Monday, October 25th starting @5pm! If you’re not coming for the puppet show then definitely get there well before it’s dark and if your not familiar with the event, there’s no actual carving going on, you have to spend the weekend doing that.
Coming off the heals of our 22nd event we are introducing a whopping 8 new themed categories – see poster below.
We also added an additional freestyle category for the professionals out there – Master Blade! This year we are, not only engraving the name of the winner we are handing them $500! Winner take all but you have to be in it to win it!
We’ve recently noticed folks trying to use glow sticks to illuminate their pumpkins but they don’t give off enough light and the judging happens in the dark so if you are planning to use glow sticks plan to use a few candles too.
Check out the poster below and links to the carving galleries on the left of this site if you need some motivation besides all the prize money… remember it’s FREE to enter and FREE to see but you can’t win the cash unless you bring a carved pumpkin or squash-like life form. Also, many tend to forget about the categories… if you carve to fit a category you will be more likely to win… pick your favorite or if you can’t decide carve 3, you can enter in up to 3 categries! Sometimes a category has just a few entries so there may be a guaranteed win in your future if you make the effort.
